Elegance of Purity & Cafe Terrace at Night

I’m not claiming to be Van Gogh, but I like to think I’m good at painting. I love to paint, as mentioned just previously, and Van Gogh is definitely one of my favorite artists. The list is pretty long, but let’s bring this a little closer to home. George Fagnan, a Sapotaweyak Cree Native that lives in Brandon Manitoba. Now these two artists amazed me. Their use of colour and the emotion that is painted onto canvas can bring me to tears. Of course, I must have a favorite painting by these artists. I can’t tell you why I love these paintings, the colour and pure beauty should be just enough. So I won’t, just look at them, and love them with me.

I. Love. Music. It’s always been an outlet for me, and I’m constantly listening to something. At 4 am when I can’t sleep so I decide to paint, I put 3 or 4 songs on repeat, let the music flow through me and give my canvas some life. These two outlets combined bring nothing but a storm of colour and brush strokes, I can sit in my room for hours with my paints and music. I feel most at home when I’m painting, and it doesn’t bother me when the song playing is anything but a calm and soothing beat, I’m always relaxed listening to music.

Books, Books, and more Books!

Books are media, right? I hope so, because I can read for days. Re-reading books I’ve already read, and always finding new ones online! 80% of the time you see me on my phone, I’m probably reading a book. In my Top Ten Favorite Movie list is The Wizard of Oz, I love this movie, and the book. The Wizard of Oz is one of the first books I read when I was younger. I mean, if you don’t count every Junie B Jones book, I used to be able to read 3 of those every night before going to bed.
This is going to be a post of only three of my favorite books/book series, and a description of the book from goodreads.com.

My Top 5 Songs Right Now

1. Fairytale – Milky Chance
2. Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene – Hozier
3. Songbird – Fleetwood Mac
4. Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
5. I’m Not The Only One – Sam Smith

I seem to have a thing for Foreign men that can sing. Sam Smith is my go-to artist, no matter what kind of mood I’m in. Fleetwood Mac is just always amazing. Also, Ed Sheeran has been a constant favorite.
Every time I start my playlist, Fairytale is always the first one. I make sure that I listen to these songs at least three times. Though, I’m sure that this top five list won’t last long, my favorite songs are ever changing!

In Reference to a certain Favorite Movie Post that I may have already written…

So I guess this is where I tell you what I learned – my conclusion, right? Well, my conclusion is: Hate is baggage. Life’s too short to be pissed off all the time. It’s just not worth it. Derek says it’s always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can’t top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you’d like. ‘We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.’

This is a little excerpt from one of my favorite movies, American History X (1998). I love this short monologue at the end of this movie, it includes a quote from the 16th President of the United States; Abraham Lincoln.

Anime Obsessed Teenager

I am a very proud anime obsessed teenager. I watch many shows, reality, comedy, drama, but I will always go back to some anime show. In the video above is one of my FAVORITE animes, Naruto! The video is just summarizing the show. In this part of the series there is 220 episodes, there is another instalment that is on-going.

Pacific Rim – Movie Review

Pacific Rim, A film with robots and sea creatures battling it out. I’ve never seen this film, but I have a soft spot for Sci-Fi movies so I’m pretty excited to see how it goes! I don’t want to say I’m bad for criticism, but I can be picky with movies. I like movies about sea creatures; I mean if you count The Water Horse they can’t be all that bad. Right? Robots, well I’ve watched Transformers so I’m excited!

Best Selling Novels to the Hollywood Big Screen!

There are many movies that are being released these days that are based off novels. There will always be movies based off novels, seeing as novels are amazing. Pages filled with words that capture you and pull you into the story. I personally love these kinds of movies, I enjoy reading the books before watching the movies. I am usually pretty disappointed that some little parts didn’t make it into the movie, but anybody who reads books will feel that way. You have movies that have recreated the novel beautifully, then you have movies that should have never existed because the book is that much better.  Continue reading Best Selling Novels to the Hollywood Big Screen!

I’ve probably got the dialogue to most of these movies memorized. I couldn’t just pick one Peter Pan movie either, there are so many and these are my top picks of my most favourite fictional character! Movies based on true events are always a favourite to me, as you can see that 4 of these movies are based of lives of people that left such an impact on society that a movie needed to be created in their memory.
